ARRIVE IN DUBLIN. CEAD MILE FÁILTE. Upon arrival at Dublin airport, you will be met by one of our top class driver/guides and escorted to a luxury vehicle and privately transferred into Dublin City. Your driver/guide will conduct a short orientation tour of the city including some of the major sights. You will see O’Connell Street and the General Post Office which was the location where the Proclamation was read for the first time on Easter Sunday 1916, you will see the Garden of Remembrance, The Custom House and get a feel for this great city. Accommodation is included for 2 nights at your choice of hotel (please note supplements apply the 5 star) The Shelbourne Hotel: The Merrion Hotel: The Dylan Hotel or the Conrad Hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest and relax and enjoy Dublin’s Fair City.
Our Guide and Driver/Guide Services: We provide only the very best of local guides and driver/guides (One Person) who will be with you for 8 hours per day with an hour for lunch. During your trip, you will discover a wealth of detailed information about Irish history, about the cities, towns and villages along the route. You will learn about the heritage of Ireland its complex history back to 13,000BC. Through an intricately woven timeline you will see first-hand the influences that have come together to make the Irish who we are. Most importantly your driver/guide is there to make your trip through the Real Ireland as memorable as possible so we will be flexible to allow you to experience and feel the Real Ireland. You will be taken to those real places where you can immerse yourself in the culture, feel the character and meet the characters.
DUBLIN. A WALKING TOUR OF THE CITY
After your full Irish breakfast this morning, at 9am you will meet an expert local guide in the hotel lobby. We include a 3-hour walking tour exploring the city centre. Your tour will focus on the highlights of the city centre and give an informed and fun perspective of life and history in Ireland’s capital. The walking tour will end at Trinity College Library where we include entrance fees to see the famous Book of Kells. In the afternoon you may choose to visit St Patrick’s Cathedral perhaps Kilmainham Gaol, The Guinness Storehouse, The Dublin Writers Museum or any of the great museums and galleries. In the evening, there is the option to include a private transfer for the superb Celtic Nights Dinner and Irish dancing show at the Arlington Hotel. Your driver will collect you after dinner and drop you back to the hotel.
DUBLIN TO CORK: THE LAND OF THE SAINTS AND SCHOLARS
Meet with your driver/guide this morning and travel along via The Rock of Cashel to Cork and Blarney Castle. The site where St Patrick chose to make the head of his church in Ireland The Rock of Cashel is a spectacular group of medieval buildings set on an outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale including the 12th century round tower, High Cross and Romanesque Chapel, 13th century Gothic cathedral, 15th century Castle and the restored Hall of the Vicars Choral. After your visit, you will continue to Blarney Castle where you will have the chance to kiss the famous Stone of Eloquence and time to pillage the adjacent woollen mills. Later you will continue to Kinsale. Where you will check into the stunning Perryville House or similar for an overnight in a superior king bedded room. Situated right in the heart of beautiful Kinsale the evening is free for you to relax and explore Kinsale and try any of the fine restaurants that make Kinsale known as the Gourmet Capital of Ireland.
CORK TO KILLARNEY. THE WILD ATLANTIC WAY
After breakfast you will meet with your driver/guide and depart Kinsale. You will travel along the wild and rugged south and west coast, part of Ireland’s famous tourist route the Wild Atlantic Way. First you can make a stop to view the breath-taking scenery at the Old Head of Kinsale and travel along the coastline to Skibbereen and around Bantry Bay One of the world’s largest natural harbours. Today is all about the very best of Irish scenery truly breath-taking panoramas that present a new vista with every mile. There will be plenty of photo stops. There will be time for lunch in the picturesque village of Kenmare. In the afternoon you will be driven along the most stunning part of the Ring of Kerry, along the lakes and through the national park to the popular town of Killarney. Here you will check in for 3 nights at The Aghadoe Heights Hotel (located just 10 minutes from Killarney) in a lake side deluxe room or the Killarney Park Hotel (located in the heart of town) in a deluxe room. The evening is free and you can take the hotel shuttle to town to enjoy Ireland’s most famous tourist town and all of the great pubs and restaurants.
A FREE DAY TO ENJOY KILLARNEY AND THE KINGDOM OF KERRY
Today we have left the day free for you to choose from several options. For Golfers maybe 18 holes on the Killeen Course at Killarney’s Golf and Fishing Club, maybe horse-riding a trek through The Killarney National Park, perhaps hire bikes and take a signposted route along part of the Ring of Kerry? A day trip by Horse including a jaunting car, a boat trip and a hike through the Gap of Dunloe. A boat trip to the Skellig Islands, an in depth tour of the Ring of Kerry or a visit to Muckross House. Whatever you would like to see and do we will confirm that with you for your final itinerary. Tonight there is also the option to enjoy an evening of Irish music, songs and dancing at Kate Kearney’s Cottage.
THE DINGLE PENINSULA
THE DINGLE PENINSULA. After breakfast at 9am today you will meet your driver/guide for a tour out to Ireland’s most westerly point. The day tour to the Dingle Peninsula is a journey that takes in the wild and rugged beauty of the Slea head Drive. The peninsula is littered with Archaeological remains and secluded sandy beaches, here you can walk on one of them and feel the splendid isolation that the Neolithic settlers must have felt in 4,000 BC when they made the area their home. Dingle Town is one of Ireland’s quickly disappearing Gaeltacht regions where Irish is the first language and one can almost sense the difference here. An optional seafood lunch can be enjoyed in any of the towns’ superb restaurants. Later you will travel over the Conor Pass one of Ireland most dramatic journeys across the peaks to Tralee and then back to Killarney for an evening at your leisure.
THE CLIFFS OF MOHER
Depart after breakfast and travel north with a short stop in the pretty town of Adare regarded as Irelands prettiest towns. Then onto Bunratty Castle and Folk Park where we include entrance and a guided tour of the famous castle. Afterwards, travel west to The Cliffs of Moher – a sheer precipice that stretches for 5 miles along the Wild Atlantic Way. The Cliffs of Moher rise to a height of 668 feet above the Atlantic and is one of the most impressive coastlines in Ireland. In nesting season the cliffs are home to a variety of seabirds. Entrances to Cliffs of Moher Visitors Centre are included. In the afternoon there will be time to see the Burren Region a remarkable landscape of Limestone and littered with Neolithic sites dating back 6,000 years. In the evening you will check into Dromoland Castle for final overnight in a deluxe room. Today we include a private departure transfer to Shannon airport for your return flight to the USA.
